Does your computer have the speed for your game? After buy new PC, some months have passed, it starts to slow down again?

These could help you improve the speed for better gaming - MapleSea.

An overloaded startup
Most applications you install usually add themselves automatically to your Start Up folder. This results in a slower startup because of the time needed to load them all. If your computer used to boot at the speed of light, but now moves slower than an old lady at the zebra crossing, this might be your problem.

SOLVE THIS: by accessing the
MSCONFIG command through your search bar or run application, heading to the Startup tab at the top, and unchecking all unnecessary programmes. Seriously, do you really need iTunes to boot whenever you start your computer?

Too many temporary files
Whenever you look at webpages, watch videos, look at photos or even type on Microsoft Word, your computer stores temporary files so that it can load up faster the next time round. These files build up over time and may slow your computer down, especially since they’re usually located in your OS drive.

SOLVE THIS: By running Windows Disk Cleanup, found in Accessories, regularly.

A fragmented disk
A very old school problem, but still a very real one. Disk fragmentation occurs when the file system can’t or won’t allocate enough continuous space to store a complete file. This results in gaps within that file, and can make that file run slower than it usually would. Sometimes, those gaps occur when the OS deletes a file it doesn’t need any more. (This is safe though, your OS is smarter than you think).

SOLVE THIS: By running the Disk Defragmenter, also found in Accessories, regularly. We suggest not using the computer whilst the Defragmenter runs so as to minimise more fragmentation.

Programs uninstalled improperly
What a mouthful this header is. A PC does not work like a MAC – simply deleting the application you don’t want won’t cut it, and leaves behind remaining files that may cause your computer to slow down.

SOLVE THIS: By always uninstalling programs with the proper uninstall.exe, or remove them via the Control Panel. Go one step further to delete leftover files from the folder manually after uninstallation. This could include save games, 3rd party add ons, screenshots and etc.

A full OS disk
Many people make the mistake of saving everything possible into their C:/ drive, and that usually hosts their OS, or operating system. Once that drive gets too full, it slows down, thereby slowing down your entire computer’s processing speed.

SOLVE THIS: by partitioning your drive into C:/ and D:/ and saving your data in D:/. The lack of strain on your OS drive will let it run faster. You might be pleasantly amazed at the difference this can make.

Background anti-viruses
Anti-viruses are always helpful, but can sometimes do more harm than good. Since they’re always running and usually boot together with your computer, they can slow down processes considerably. Strangely enough, it’s always the ones you’ve got to pay for that wreak the most havoc.

SOLVE THIS: By disabling auto scans and updates, or by switching to a more lightweight, freeware anti-virus. Some have suggested Avira and AVG Antivirus, but it’s your job to ask your trusted geek friend what he’s using.

Spyware and viruses
Malicious software often heads straight for your Windows Registry or core file system, slowing down your computer. They can sneak in with applications you download online and install, and can also hop in from less-than-savoury websites you visit.

SOLVE THIS: While spyware and viruses can be removed manually by deleting them from your registry, some can be more persistent. In this case, use an automatic spyware remover – tons are available if you do a Google search. One of the more popular one is Ad-Aware Spyware Remover.

One of the most challenging party quest! A challenge that a true Mapler has to overcome to declare yourself fit to be among the strongest!
One word of advice~~wits is more important than brawn when pitting yourself against the Grand Masters of Crimsonwood Keep!

Party Quest Requirements
• Required minimum 10 members in a squad.
• Maximum of 20 members in a squad.
• Required at least 2 characters from each of 5 main classes.
• Minimum level to attempt this party quest is 90 and above.
• Each character can only attempt the party quest twice in a day.

From 2nd September 2010 to 16th September 2010, NPC Charlie will open up the Premium Mini Dungeons once again! What makes these event mini dungeons so special is that all the mobs roaming inside are dropping magical crystals which you can exchange rare items of your choice with Maple Administrator!

How to enter Premium Mini Dungeon:

Method 1 – Quest:
Speak to Maple Administrator to gather 4 Mini Dungeon tickets and exchange for 1 Free Entrance Ticket to enter the Premium Mini Dungeon.

Method 2 – Cash Shop:
The Maple Mini Dungeon Ticket will be available in the Cash Shop until the 15th September 2010! So hurry up and get them before they are gone! Each ticket is selling at 1,500 1000 Maple Cash, while a bundle of eleven pieces is available at 15,000 10,000 Maple Cash.

How does Premium Mini Dungeon works?
Premium Mini Dungeon can only be access by talking to NPC Charlie. Each Mini Dungeon Ticket allows you to stay inside Premium Mini Dungeon for 10 minutes.
Defeat the monsters to collect the Mini Dungeon Crystals and Diamonds that will trade you some amazing items like miracle scrolls and exclusive chairs! Speak to the Maple Administrator to exchange for the items of your choice.
Please take note that you will not be able to consume any potions while you are inside the Mini Dungeon.

Evil aliens are on the loose over the whole of MapleSEA! Vavaan the Space Detective requires the help of all maplers to assist him in capturing all these aliens that are roaming around in almost all towns!

How do I capture the aliens? And using what?

• Look for NPC Vavaan in each town to receive the quest.
• You will receive 1 use slot item, Capture-the-Alien-Ball.
• Hit the aliens in towns to make them weak enough to be captured.
• Move near the alien and use Capture-the-Alien-Ball to held it captive inside the ball. (Hint: Item can be set under key settings)
• Exchange the Captured Alien Ball with Vavaan and receive [Milky Way Star]
• Open up [Milky Way Star] and receive surprise rewards including Star over a Tree Chair!

That’s not all! Vavaan is also putting up a generous reward out to avid helpers in capturing these evil~fly~doers!
Talk to NPC Vanaan to check on the top rankings and scores in alien capturing!

Hero’s Successor, Evan!

Centuries ago, Freud the heroic Dragon Master with the partnership of the mighty Onyx Dragon fought against the Black Wizard along with Aran.

Centuries later, the Onyx Dragon has found a new master!

A humble soul, the child of a pig farmer, will reforge old bonds and re-establish the Spirit Pact. The Onyx Dragon will rise again at the side of a new Hero who will use that power to fight for peace and justice!

Evan was just an average boy living in Henesys until the day of the unusual dream….

In his dream, Evan wandered into a strange fog-enshrouded forest. Terrified and alone, he caught sight of a strange illuminated boulder engraved with bizarre glowing runes in a language unknown to him.

Evan followed the light towards the rune-craved boulder as if in a trance. Soon after, the boulder cracked with a noise loud enough to tremble the whole world and Evan suddenly face a majestic black-scaled face. Ancient, wise eyes stared into his own and a voice echoed in his head.

“Come to me Evan, let our souls be joined…”

Evan woke up from his dream, frightened but excited, yet eventually convinced himself it was nothing but a fantasy.

For a while, that’s all it seemed to be until one day a small piglet escaped and Evan chased the piglet for hours, further than he had ever traveled deep into the forest than before.

Finally he caught sight of the piglet, chased it, stumbled into a deep hole, struck his head and passed out.

When he woke up, he felt that this area looks familiar.

Walking as if his feet knew the way, he came across a round shaped rune inscribed with strange glowing symbol.

This was no boulder though – it was an egg! He reached out to touch it, felt the warm shell pulse under his hand and a familiar voice rang in his ears.

“The Pact is formed. We are One now…”

Start of a New Hero
Without any hesitation, Evan quickly snatched up the egg and ran home.

Evan didn’t know what brings him to take the egg along with him while running back home. He felt just like having a reunion with his dearest pet that was lost long ago.

After weeks of tender care, as Evan hovered over the egg, the day came when a crack appeared on its smooth shell. A few more cracks and a tiny reptilian form tumbled into Evan’s hands.

Then the little creature looked up into Evan’s eyes and his whole world changed.

Onyx Dragons and Spirit Pact

Sometimes called “Half-Dragons” or “Spirit Dragons,” Onyx Dragons are symbionts that cannot reach their full growth and powers alone.

They need to bond with someone of another race in order to achieve their full potential.

When they create a Spirit Pact with someone, they develop into mighty beings more powerful than any other dragons.

EVAN Skills

The Brand new Evan class will not have any job advancement. A new system call the Growth System will be introduced. Growth Stages are achieved by leveling up. At each level up, you and your dragon will become stronger and when you reached a growth stage, you will receive a set of new skills. Skills can be raised by using “Skill Points” (SP) in order to maximize their effectiveness. Three Skill Points are given everytime you level up.

At every growth stages, your Onyx Dragon will become larger and stronger. The Onyx Dragon will evolve from a cute Baby Onyx Dragon form into a fierce adult Onyx Dragon form.

Unlike those previous class, all attacks are done by the Onyx Dragon. When a skill is used, the execution of the skill will be done mainly by the dragon. For Evan class, the Ability Point (AP) added into the stats will be for the user and the dragon. Supportive skills are used on yourself and your dragon or your party for a certain duration. Passive skills will apply the bonus to the user and the dragon.

Launching of Dragon Rider Quest

Brief Information

Once again, a whole new boss party quest adding in to our current collection of 6 boss party quests!

This time round, players will have to take on our Vengeful Dragon & Dragon Rider in order to get newly introduced Elemental equipment items and tablets!

Before you can meet the Vengeful Dragon & Dragon Rider, you will have to first assist Chief Tatamo. Listen to his plea and help him to save his villagers from unwanted sufferings and attacks from the unknown Dragon Rider.

Get the ingredients to concoct a special portion that allows humans to fly. With the help from Matada and the portion, you will be able to take on the challenge on the same ground with the skill, Soaring

Beware that the road will not be easy without our help!

How to start?

Once your character has obtained Level 100, Maple Administrator will be passing on a message on behalf of Chief Tatamo. Listen to what Chief Tatamo has to say and as you progress, you are one step closer to facing the Vengeful Dragon & Dragon Rider!

Oops, you will need a party of at least 3 party members to enter Crimson Sky to meet the Vengeful Dragon & Dragon Rider!

Don’t forget to gather few of your buddies and face the boss together!

Elemental Items

What are Elemental Equipment items?

Elemental equipment items are items with durability that can activate special stats for your equipment. And what are these tablets for?

Do remember to constantly check on the durability of your elemental equipment item, repair them once the weapon’s durability is low. Repair NPCs are Vicious, Mr. Thunder, Francois, JM From tha Streetz, Cheryl, Neve, Gordon, Sarah, Tara, Rydole & Mos.

NPCs will of course charge you with a repairing fee for repairing your dearest elemental equipment, however, the repair fee varies for each different weapon and weapon’s current durability level.

Best part is elemental weapons can be traded for once with the help of our Platinum Scissors of Karma.

Party Register & Search Function System

1. Click on ‘O’ to open the Party Search Page and double click on the Party that you wish to participate.

2. A new registration page will appear.

3. Click on ‘Create’ to create a new party or to join any party that has been created.

4. Choose the difficulty level of the Party Quest if available.

5. Click ‘OK’ to confirm on creating a Party listing.

6. Your Party listing has been successfully created.

7. Other players will be able to see your Party listing on the Party Search window.

8. Use the ‘Find Party Member’ function in search for interested players for the same quest!

9. While the system searches for the right party member, there will be an icon appearing on the top right corner of your screen.

You may wish to ‘Pause’ or ‘Stop’ the search by clicking on the respective button below the ‘Party Search’ function.

Follow Function in MapleSEA!
Always have problem following your buddies in MapleStory? Now there is an effortless way to follow your buddies.

When in the same map, stand close to your buddy. Right click on your buddy and click on ‘Follow’.

This way, regardless of where your buddy goes, your character will follow him to his destination.

While in the ‘following’ mode, do not enter any other portal, or change the direction or your character or the mode will be automatically cancelled.

Do remember to watch out for your own safety when your character is following your buddy! Beware of the monsters on the loose!

Launching of Dual Raid

Brief Information
Are you always known as a combative Mapler in your guild or your buddy group? Then you are most welcome to join other competitive Maplers in a round of Dual Raid!

The latest addition to our existing party quests, Dual Raid (Level Requirement of 60-80) originates from a long forgotten ghost ship situated in a hidden part in the Aquarium.

Only the smartest mammal in the sea can bring you to the Wrecked Ghost Ship but you will have to reward him for his courage and effort for bringing you there.

Dolphin being a loyal friend of yours will always be there for you when you need him.

Tip: You must be from level 60-80 to participate in Dual Raid. Accept auto quest ‘Rumor in the Sea of Fog’ and enter the Wrecked Ghost Ship via Dolphin Taxi or Mirror of Dimension.

NPC Norington will shed some light on more information on Dual Raid. Pay attention to him and your adventure in Ghost Ship will most likely be a smooth one!

Inside the map Ghost Ship: Navigation, you will be joining your team members in the waiting area to wait for 2 full teams of players (total of 6 players) in order for the Dual Raid to be initiated.

The Dual Raid will begin in 10 seconds, once 2 full teams are present the Ghost Ship: Navigation.

Both teams (Red & Blue) are required to clear all 5 stages within the given time of 15 minutes to proceed on to the last stage for the final boss: Captain of Ghost Ship.

Player can always keep an eye on the points accumulated, time duration left, progression of each team, stage instructions and the current stage of player using the information listed in the game.

Once 1 of the 2 teams completed all the 5 stages within the given time, both teams will enter the 2nd waiting area (with a waiting time of 10 seconds) to proceed on to the last stage for the final boss: Captain of Ghost Ship at the Lost Captain Room map.

Points will be accumulated according to the damage done by each team and it will be displayed in red/blue bar as shown above.

Both teams will be moved to the exit map once the boss is defeated. Reward will be provided based on the performance of your team (according to points system).

For avid achievers of Dual Raid, you will be able to receive the Marine Officer Cape from NPC Norington upon the completion of Dual Raid for 30 times and 50 times respectively.

Implementation of NEW Horned Tail Rules

Minimum number of Squad Members required to start a Horned Tail session has been increased to 12, instead of the former 6 squad members.

Upon the completion of each stage, a timer will be in placed for 15 minutes. All squad members will have to move on to the next map within 15 minutes, or all users will be teleported to Leafre Town after the time limit.

For party between Level 25 – 30, the quest will be auto-initiated when you reached the required level. Follow the pointers and instructions provided from the quest and you will be able to start your first Monster Survival: Mr. Lim and the Subway real soon!

Once you have located Mr. Lim, click to ‘Head down to the dusty platform’ and the challenges arrive!

You will be able to receive the Honorary Employee Medal from NPC Mr. Lim if you meet the requirements. Best of Luck!

Mysterious Pyramid

For party between Level 40 – 60, the quest will be auto-initiated when you reached the required level. Follow the pointers and instructions provided from the quest and you will be able to start your first Monster Survival: Mysterious Pyramid.

You can ask NPC Duarte for information regarding the Mysterious Pyramid or enter the dungeon directly if you are brave enough to.

Choose the level wisely to complete the dungeon with distinction.

Similar to Monster Survival: Mr. Lim and the Subway, you will be able to receive Protector of Pharaoh Medal from NPC Duarte if you meet the requirement to it.

Last but not least, players will have a change to obtain the NEW belt items from the treasure boxes upon the completion of the Monster Survival: Mysterious Pyramid.

The Legendary Heroes: The Arans

Aran’s AP (Ability Points) follows the same pattern as any other warrior:
STR (strength) is your main stat and DEX (dexterity) is your secondary stat.
Your DEX is always double your level.
Example: If your Aran is level 30, your DEX is 60.

Aran AP Auto-Distribution
If you follow the “auto distribution” you will receive:
3 STR and 2 DEX each level from Level 1 – 30.
4 STR and 1 DEX each level from Level 31 – 70.

If you have sufficient funding, you can cap your DEX much earlier.

Regular DEX (Dexterity)
Recommended to add DEX each level. [For first-time players]
This build will have the most accuracy, but weakest attack.
(STR is your primary source for damage, DEX is for boosting your accuracy)
If you follow the Auto AP Distribution by Nexon/Asiasoft:
Auto-AP adds 2 DEX each level till Level 30, and 1 DEX till Level 70.
Note: Get a Zakum Helm and Deputy Star (for more accuracy) when you have the funds.
It’s recommended to cap (limit) DEX around DEX 80 for this build, but it isn’t mandatory,

Low DEX (Dexterity)
Recommended to cap your DEX at around 40 – 60 [For semi-funded players]
For this build, you just add a little DEX, and get the rest of it entirely from your equipments.
For example: Scrolling your overall armor with DEX scrolls provides additional accuracy stats.
This build is probably the most accepted build out of any warrior AP builds.

DEXless
Don’t add any AP into DEX, Leave it at DEX 4. [For well funded players]
For this build, you add all AP points to STR, and ignore DEX.
This will lead to lower accuracy, but higher damage.
Your scrolled equipments will be your primary source for accuracy.
For example: Wielding a maple weapon (provides additional accuracy)
Advantage of DEXless is training on high level monster with low EVA (evasion)
High level monster rewards more EXP but they have more HP.
High STR will defeat them easily. That’s how hardcore DEXless warrior level very fast.
Also, once your character level is on par with monster level, you can hit it easily.

1st Job: Recollections

Tutorial quests and you should reach Lv10 in no time at all. Once you reach Lv10, click on the Giant Polearm wedged in a glacier next to Lirin in order to advance to the First Job. As usual, you will receive 1 SP and have all your AP reset. And no, you don’t get to use that cool looking polearm. Get your own!

NOTE: LV10 Aran star only with Double Swing and Combat Step skills.
NOTE: The remaining skills are acquired through quest, similarly to 4th Job

How do I get Pole Arm Booster? Which NPC should i talk to? I’m level 22 now
You need to complete all ARAN REQUIRED quest! Open you quest window, check under ‘available’ or in progress. Finish all the quest under [ARAN] [Required]
Make sure that you have completed ALL Aran-exclusive quests given before Lv22 (just check to make sure there are no more [Required] quests). Once you have done so, a light-bulb should appear over your head. Click it and select Accept to be teleported to Francis’s house. I suggest you purchase a Lith Harbour scroll as you’ll have to report back to Tru after speaking with Francis.

Q: “Why do you max Combat Step and not Pole Arm Booster?”
A: Mobility is key to any melee character. Try using step off of a ledge to understand why it can be so useful. As you level up Step, the distance it travels increases. Booster, however, only last longer. You can just recast booster to make it feel like level 20, while you can’t reuse Step while falling off of a ledge. Take note that the level 50 Mount is slower than spam Hax-Stepping on normal ground, let alone El Nath. (The super slide on El Nath snow terrain and Combat-stepping in mid air are disabled in KMS now because its too godly :( )

Q: “Why do you push Combo Ability till the end?”
A: Combo is saved until the end because Pole Arm Booster is a necessity.
Maxing Double Swing adds more DPS (Damage per Second) than combo does.

Q: “Why can’t I put Double Swing on a key? How do I use it?”
A: Double Swing is activated when you double tap your attack key. That means on mob-populated maps like Scorpions, you’ll be pressing your attack key none stop, save for the occasional potion. Carpel Tunnel is fun.

Q: What is Lirin’s Ring and how do I get it?
A: Lirin’s Ring is a “Ring” equip that increases all stats, WA, MA, HP & MP by 3. You get it by reaching Lv50 on an Aran character and speaking to Lirin. In KMS this was purely a time-limited event, after which you could no longer get the ring (KMS offered the ring at Lv70, by the way). Whether MSEA will follow suit is uncertain. The ring is permanent (on KMS. not confirmed for MSEA), and can be transferred between characters on the same account, but cannot be traded to other accounts with or without Scissors of Karma.

2nd Job: Memory

Once you reach Lv30, return to Rien and talk to Lirin. Finish up the chain of “quests” that require you to go back and forth between Lirin and Maha, the spirit sealed in the Giant Pole Arm. Soon enough, Lirin will direct you to the Cave of Mirrors which is all the way North of Rien. Enter the portal and you will find yourself in…Mu Lung? Accept the NPC’s quest collect items dropped by the Asiatic Black Bears which you will find in the next map. Once you’re done, return to the NPC and then to Lirin to (finally) get your well-deserved job advancement. ~Credits to Hanabira.Kage

Now, you will probably notice that Combo Ability and Pole Arm Booster are not in your skill list. Fret not, because they are obtained from quests at Lv13 and Lv22 respectively. I will go through the quests in the Skill Quests section.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Q: “Does skills that consumes COMBO also consumes MP?”
A: All skills that consumes COMBO does not use MP (such as Combo Smash) However, it resets your combo to zero. For example, you gain 100 combo, and activate a combo skill, your 100 combo becomes zero.

Q: “Why max Combo Smash but not Triple Swing first?”
A: Combo Smash allows you to deal 600% damage against 10 monsters (at max level) It requires at least 30 combo that you have generated after hitting 30 times. It’s very useful when you want to hit a monster located far away from you. Great to clear mobs of monster at Monster Carnival 1 (at level 45) Save SP at level 39 till level 45 to max this skill once you obtain this skill from Lirin.

Q: “Why Final Charge is added last and not max?”
A: Final Charge at max level only increases 2 mob coverage, and you won’t run into more than 10 mobs often. 9 SP can be spent on other skill such as Body Pressure and Combo Drain. It is max last because it won’t help much in training but very useful in mob areas such as Entrance to Spookyworld with many Gallopera. Level 1 Polearm Push to gain some mobility and clumping monsters.

3rd Job: Skirmish

Remember the dock where you depart for Lith Harbour? That’s where you’re headed. Prepare for a boss fight…a big, mutant crow. This guy takes quite a while to kill and does a heck of a lot of damage. Once he’s down, return to Maha and then talk to Lirin. Yes, you have to go to the Cave of Mirrors AGAIN. This time, you end up in El Nath. Does the backdrop look familiar to you? It looks like the Test of Wisdom map…but it’s not. Instead you find a Yeti who has a quest for you. Accept it and enter the portal next to it. Oh ho ho! Surely you didn’t think that was all, did you? The Mutant Crow is back and he wants a piece of you. Kick his butt again and collect the Red Jewel that he drops. Give this to the Yeti. Now you have to forge a Red Jewel for Maha. FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why max Smart Knockback after Full Swing and Critical combo?
A: I have tested out Aran on monsters where most Adventurer class train. Sadly, Aran damage is not sufficient to knockback monsters to prevent them from casting their magic attacks. Aran can attack fast but their damage are low. To counter this, Smart Knockback is maxed to lower down the knockback requirement, so every hit allows Aran to keep knocking back the monster to prevent it from moving pass you and prevent them from casting spell (this skill also works on bosses).

Apart from that, Final Toss works along with Smart Knockback. If you can’t knockback the monster consistently, you can’t keep the monster in air for long. Every successful knockback keeps the monster afloat in air (this prevents them to cast spell and makes them stationary at 1 place while you happily hit them without them hurting you abit!) Couple with Combo Drain and Body Pressure, you will be using less HP (health potion) compare to the rest of the Adventurer and Knight of Cygnus Class! (except for Cleric)

Q: “Fenrir Phantom vs Combo Smash. Which skill is more powerful?”
A: – Fenrir Phantom is always better than Combo Smash.
Combo Smash : 30 combos : 600% damage
Fenrir Phantom : 100 combos : 800% damage x 2 = 1600% damage

Based on the skill description, Smash is better since
30 combos x 3 = 90 combos
= 600% x 3 = 1800% damage
you need only 90 combos and deal 1800% damage

BUT !!! you havent include the bonus damage from Combo Ability & Critical Combo.

By requiring 100 combos, Fenrir Phantom unlock Combo Ability & Critical Combo true potential, adding a total of 10 WA and +100% critical damage with 60% to activate. Making the damage deal by Fenrir is way more than 1600%. AND since Fenrir is a 2 hits skill, giving it a higher chance to activate combo in one of the hit or even in both hits. And a 2 hits skill also mean a much more stable damage than a one hit skill.

Other Information
Snow Charge is a free 10% damage to non ice monsters, which is a huge plus for a class that mobs like crazy, plus the slow is really nice to have.
The Full Swings power up our staple attacks, which is always nice.
Smart Knockback makes it easier to reduce how often enemies will attack you.
The reason I put spare points for Final Toss is because the damage increase for the enemies in the air seem really minuscule because it requires setting up the enemy for the bonus damage. Now I ask why deal a measly 110% to 12 enemies for a bonus +100% damage (which for Aran multipliers doesn’t seem much at all) when you can kill them faster without Final Toss and/or push them forward with Final Take for a bigger mob?

MapleStory Aran Skill Combinations

Double Swing : (ATTACK) + (ATTACK)
Also known as the Double Swing skill. You WILL be spamming this during 1st Job.
You don’t have any other option. It is rather powerful, though.

Triple Swing : (ATTACK) + (ATTACK) + (ATTACK)
Triple Swing skill. This will take over from Double Swing.
Take note that the last hit moves you forward a little bit, so keep some potions handy.

Tips #1 : (Body Pressure) + (Triple Swing)
Using Body Pressure before attacking with Triple Swing .
This makes sure that you deal a little extra damage
when the last hit moves you a little too far forward.
Still, keep some potions handy at all times.

Polearm Push : (Triple Swing) + (LEFT/RIGHT) + (ATTACK)
Triple Swing – Polearm Push combo. At max level, this will
slash 12 enemies 3 times each then slash once more to pile them up.
This will be your main attack combo for mobbing once you get Polearm Push.
Note that you can press to rush toward the left.

Combo Smash : (Triple Swing) + (DOWN) + (LEFT/RIGHT) + (ATTACK)
Triple Swing (or whatever combo) until you get more than 30 COMBO,
then use Combo Smash. This will probably kill off most of the enemies closer to you.

Polearm Toss : (Triple Swing) + (UP) + (ATTACK)
Triple Swing – Polearm Toss combo.
No, you can’t juggle mobs so don’t even think about it.
Just continue whacking before they land to deal maximum damage.

[Tips #2] : Triple Swing + … + Triple Swing + Polearm Toss + Combo Smash
- Triple Swing – Polearm Toss-Combo Smash combo.
Combo Smash’s damage is insane enough as it is.
If you hit mobs whle they’re in the air, the damage will be a lot higher.
Just be quick with it or you may miss your chance to hit them with Combo Smash.

[Polearm Finale aka Polar Bear Paw] : Triple Swing + Down + Attack
- Triple Swing – Polearm Finale combo. As I’ve stated before,
you can choose between Polearm Push and Polearm Finale for your main attack combo.
Yes, Polearm Finale is stronger, but if the mobs aren’t all in one spot,
Polearm Finale won’t hit all of them. In such a case,
you can use Polearm Push to pile them up first, then use Polearm Finale to crush them.

Polearm Push or Polearm Finale?
Upon maxing Polearm Finale, you’ll face this dilemma:
When should I use Polearm Push and when should I use Polearm Finale?
Here’s a general guideline:
1. Use Polearm Push when facing a large group of spaced-out monsters.
2. Use Polearm Push when in situations where monsters WILL push you back such that your next hit won’t connect.
3. Use Polearm Finale when up against monsters that are very close together/on the same spot.

Combat Step
- There’s a reason why Combat Step has the word “Combat” in its name. Utilising Combat Step quickly and efficiently can help you maintain your COMBO counter and also save your skin at times. For example, there are 2 groups of monsters, one in front of you and the other behind. You kill off one group, then turn and Combat Step to the other group and start hitting them. This will keep the COMBO count intact, provided you do it quick enough. Therefore, Combat Step might be a better choice to max compared to Polearm Booster.

After centuries of being trapped in the ice under the curse of the Black Wizard, Aran the legendary Hero has finally woken up.

He has lost all memories from the past and his abilities. Awaiting his awakening at his side is a girl named Lirin. Lirin is the last member of the clan that believed in the resurrection of the Aran.

Day by day, with the help of Lirin and other member of the clan, Aran is slowly regaining his memories and beginning to adjust to this civilization.

With adequate training, the hero will be able to regain all his abilities and power that have laid dormant for the past centuries.

1. First Job Skills

Pole Arm Combo: Enables the visibility of combo counts. After every 10 combo counts, your stats will increase by a certain amount up to a maximum of ten times. This buff disappears when you lose your combo count. Requires 10 SP in Double Swing.

Double Attack: Press the attack key twice to attack up to 12 surrounding monsters two times.

Combat Step: Press the arrow keys twice to move to a far distance at fast speed. Requires 5 SP in Double Swing.

Polearm Booster: By using HP and MP, the attack speed of the polearm temporarily increases. Can only be used when having a polearm equipped. Requires 5 SP in Combat Step.
Note: You can obtain this skill after completing a special quest at Level 22.

2. Second Job Skills

Polearm Mastery: Increases the mastery as well as accuracy. Only applied with a polearm equipped. Requires 3 SP in Triple Swing.
Note: You can obtain this skill after completing a special quest at Level 31.

Triple Attack: Press the attack key three times to attack up to 12 surrounding monsters thrice. Requires 20 SP in Double Swing.

Pole Arm Push: Push monsters in front of you. You have to use Triple Swing first before using this skill. Requires 20 SP in Triple Swing.

Combo Drain: For a certain amount of time, you will absorb some HP of the damage dealt to the monster. Requires 1 SP in Combo Ability.

Combo Smash: Throw a polearm that penetrates a certain amount of monsters in the direction you are facing. Requires 1 SP in Combo Ability.

Body Pressure: For a short period of time, you can attack monsters with your own body. The attacked monster has a small probability to get stunned for 5 seconds.

3. Third Job Skills

Full Swing: Increases the damage of Double Swing and Triple Swing. Requires 20 SP in Triple Swing.

Critical Combo: Allows you to perform a critical attack with a certain success rate. For every 10 combos, your critical damage and the chance of a critical attack goes up from a default of 100% damage and 10% chance of performing a critical attack. Requires 10 SP in Combo Ability.

Pole Arm Toss: Toss up to 12 monsters in the air. If you attack monsters in the air, they will receive additional damage. You have to use Triple Swing first before using this skill. Requires 20 SP in Triple Swing.

Fenrir Phantom: The soul of the wolf is summoned and merged into the sword to attack monsters twice in a wide range. Requires 10 SP in Combo Smash.

Snow Charge: Adds an ice element to the polearm for a short period of time. The monster’s speed will decrease after being attacked.

Smart Knock-back: Lower the damage required to knockback a monster.
Whirlwind: Push monsters away to the left and right side with a powerful wind.

4. Fourth Job Skills

Maple Warrior: Increase all players’ stats within a party by certain percentage.

Aggression: Increases the polearm mastery as well as weapon attack. Requires 20 SP in Polearm Mastery.

Over Swing: Increases the damage of Double Swing and Triple Swing to the extreme. Requires 20 SP in Full Swing.

High Class Defense: Permanently increases the weapon defense of one’s armor.

Pole Arm Finale: Swing your polearm widely to deliver a fierce attack to a maximum of 12 monsters. You have to use Triple Swing first before using this skill. Requires 20 SP in Triple Swing.

Tempest: Freezes the surrounding monsters. If a monster is frozen using this skill it will die instantly upon attack. If used against a boss monster, it deals four consecutive hits of powerful damage. Requires 10 SP in Combo Peril.

EZ Shield: Grants a buff that makes party members to receive less damage for a limited time. Requires 10 SP in Combo Drain.
Freezing Posture: Infusing the weight of a frozen glacier, prevent you from being pushed back by a monster’s attack.

During the event period of 18th Nov to 17th Dec 2009, an ice cube will be given to player when they login to MapleStory. The ice cube can be traded for a Maha’s Charm when you stayed in-game after one hour.
With the Maha’s Charm in hand, Cassandra will give you a very simple question about Aran. With the correct answer provided to Cassandra, she will then provide you with either 1. Aran’s Ice Box, 2. Lirin’s Ice Box or 3.Aran Paper Box.

The upcoming Version 0.83 patch includes:

[Game]

Launching of Maple Trading System! (MTS for SG Gateway is Available NOW!)
The MTS system is designed to enable all users to make safe transactions with items, using the currency of Cash across Worlds within the same Gateway.

How to enter the MTS:
Upon clicking the “Trade” button located at the bottom right of the screen, users will enter a zone similar to Cash Shop.

Items for Purchase:
Under the “For Sale” tab, a list of purchasable items will be shown. All items listed there are put up for sale by the other players.

User may browse through the pages and tabs slowly, to look for the item(s) which he wants. If the user has a specific item in mind, he may type the item name onto the blank field and click “Search.”

The “Search” function will then proceed to display only a list of the same item which the user is looking for. If the item is not found in the MTS, nothing will be displayed.
Players may then compare the prices and stats of the items, by moving the cursor over them before making the purchase.

How to Purchase:
The user may make purchases simply by clicking onto the “Buy Now” button. The item will then be shown in the “Transfer Inventory” column. Double click the item, to transfer it into your inventory.
If the user is considering on making a few purchases, he may click onto the “Add to Cart” button for all the considered items. The items will then be shown on the “My Page” tab and he will be able to keep track of the items which he is interested in.
To purchase, click onto the “Buy” button. Please note that the cart will not be emptied out when you log out of the game. Hence, click onto the “Cancel” button to delete the item(s) off your Cart.

How to Sell:
After entering the MTS zone, simply select the item for sale as shown in your “Item Inventory” and click “Sell.” You will be asked to key in the “Listing Price” and the number of units. (Minimum “Listing Price” is 110 Cash) Then, the “Total price” will be automatically generated.
Please note that the “Total Price” is calculated according to the following formula: 1,000 cash + 10% of the item price. The buyer of the item will have to bear this full cost, which is inclusive of a transaction fee.

There will also be a standardized 5,000 Mesos “Listing fee,” which the seller has to fork out in order to put up an item for sale.
After an item is sold, the seller will only receive the amount of Cash according to the “Listing Price” which he has keyed in, instead of the “Total Price” shown.
Do also note that each seller must be over Level 10, in order to put up his item(s) for sale in the MTS. All items will be put up for sale, until the seller has decided to “Cancel Sale.”
To do so, he may select the item in the “Not Yet Sold” column and click onto the “Cancel Sale” button. After which, the item will be reflected in the “Transfer Inventory” column instead. Double click on it to have it be returned to your own inventory.

“Wanted” Items:
If the user is not able to find a specific item in the MTS, he may choose to notify other players that he’s looking for the item by clicking onto the “List Wanted Item” button.
Type the keyword of the item onto the search field and click “search,” to find the item you wish to list out as “Wanted.” Double click on the name and fill in the “Total Price” and number of units. (Minimum “Total Price” is 1,001 Cash) User may also type in a short message below, for the others to view. For user who wants to list out their “Wanted” item, he must have sufficient Cash that is equivalent to the “Total Price”. MTS will deduct the Cash amount which is similar to the “Total Price” when you listed out in the “ List Wanted Item”. If you decide to remove your “Wanted” Item, the “Total Price” amount will be return to you.
Interested sellers will be able to send their preferred price to the buyer, by clicking onto the “Send an Offer” button.

Items for Auction:
To put up an item for auction, select the item in your “Item Inventory” and click on “Auction.” The user will be asked to fill in the number of hours the auction will run for, the “Starting Bid,” the “Bid Increment” and the “Direct Purchase Price.”

Please note that the number of hours must range from 24 hours ~ 168 hours. (Maximum of 7 days) The “Starting Bid” price must also be lower than the “Direct Purchase” price.
Items which have been put up for auction and have a minimum of at least one bid will not be able to be pulled out of the sale. Only items with no bids will be able to be pulled out from sale.
After 7 days, if the item(s) remains unsold it will be moved to the “Not Yet Sold” tab, where players will be able to retrieve their item(s).

To bid for an item, proceed to the “Auction” tab and click on “Place Bid.” The minimum bid increment will be fixed by the seller beforehand. Click on the up and down arrows, to increase or decrease your bid increment. When you bid for an item, your Cash amount will be deducted. When another user bid higher than you, the amount you have placed for the bid will be returned to you.

If the user would like to purchase the item straight, it can be done so by clicking on the “Buy Now” button.
Registration fee and 10 percent tax for Maple Trading System is not applicable from 28th Oct 2009 to 3rd Nov 2009. Registration fee and 10 percent tax will apply after the server check on 3rd Nov 2009.

As part of Asiasoft’s relentless pursuit to improve your gaming experience, we will be launching the new Maple Cash system this October.

Currently, all forms of @Cash top-up (e.g. top-ups via Pre-Paid Cards, AXS station, etc) are stored in your Asiasoft Passport as an unified @Cash. This deposition will last for a period of 365 days and expires if they are not use within the stipulated timeframe.

After various feedbacks and discussions, we have decided to implement Maple Cash system to the existing Asiasoft Passport @Cash system.

Maplers need to convert their @Cash charged into Maple Cash for usage within the game. After this implementation, your Maple Cash will not expire.

1. Log into your Asiasoft Passport
2. Under @Cash, click on “Buy Game Cash”.
3. Select “MapleSEA” from the drop down list.
4. Click on the “Charge” link beside the Game Login IDs shown to top-up your Maple Cash.
5. Key in the amount of @Cash that you wish to convert in Maple Cash and click on “Next”. Please be aware that currently the minimum conversion amount is 1,000 @Cash and once @Cash is converted into Maple Cash, this process is irreversible.
6. Enter the verification code and click on “Confirm” to complete the conversion process.

FAQ for Maple Cash Conversion

1) What is Maple Cash?
Maple Cash is MapleSEA’s game cash. It can be used in the Maple Trading System and for purchasing Cash Items from the Cash Shop. However, Maple Cash can only be used in MapleSEA.

2) Will Maple Cash expire?
No, Maple Cash will not expire, unlike @Cash which will expire 365 days from the top-up date.

3) What is the minimum conversion amount?
Minimum amount each conversion is 1,000 @Cash.

4) What is the conversion rate?
1,000 @Cash = 1,000 Maple Cash

5) Can Maple Cash be shared between my MapleSEA game accounts under the same Asiasoft Passport?
Yes. The Maple Cash will be available to all MapleSEA game accounts under the same Asiasoft Passport.

6) I have converted my @Cash to the game account of another game, can I have a refund?
We apologize that this conversion is irreversible. Therefore, please be careful to check your conversion amount and designated game accounts.

For players who had cash below 1000 @cash, a new function will be added where players can convert all the @Cash balance without worrying about the remaining small units (lesser than 1000)

The function is currently undergoing testing and will be implemented into the Asiasoft Passport once it's ready for Public.

The Neo Tokyo map has been released! And with its launch comes a whole new series of quests that will let you travel through time to get to know the past, present and future Zipangu!

However, not all is rosy at Zipangu. Giant machines are bent on destroying the town and it’s up to you Maplers to stop them! Defeat the powerful Auf Haven and you might just be rewarded with the Auf Haven Circlet and other interesting items!

New Quests
Most of the quests can be initiated at NPC Asia located at Kamuna, Zipangu.

As you venture on through the series of quests to assist the Asia, Dida and many other NPCs in Neo Tokyo, you will realize that the future of Neo Tokyo depends on you.

There will be 3 different endings (the ending quest that is initiated at NPC Asia) to the future of Neo Tokyo which solely depend on the order of the quests that you have decided to proceed.
1. Quest: Each One’s Thoughts (Normal Ending)
2. Quest: Zipangu – For a Better Tomorrow (Good Ending)
3. Quest: Zipangu Overcoming Time (True Ending)

For Jumping Quest lovers, this is our latest jumping quest that will challenge your skills in a refreshing way. Test your skills as you escape the Witch’s Tower!

Maplers can enter the Witch’s Tower via NPC Fairy Tale Fairy Crackers located at various towns.

Click on the NPC Fairy Tale Fairy Crackers in the Witch Tower and choose the level of difficulty (Easy, Normal and Hard Mode) of the quest according to your skills!

Did I miss out the most important part that you will get to receive the treasures if you get to clear the quest (Normal or Hard Mode) for 5 times?

Now that you know, do train your character and get the treasures before the quest is gone on the 18th November 2009!

Drake’s Blue Cave and Pillaging the Treasure Island
Choose to immerse yourself in danger at the Drake’s Blue (via Cave Cold Cradle Map – Victoria Island) or hop over to the Pillaging the Treasure Island (via the Red-Nose Pirate Den 2 – Ossyria) to visit the Captain. The new mini dungeons are perfect for quick short runs!

Launch of Maple Trading System (From 21st Oct 2009)
This system is designed to enable users to make secure in-game item transactions using Maple Cash. Try using this system by clicking on the “Trade” icon located on the button right corner of your MapleSEA screen!

The Maple Trading System will remain in-activated for the time being so if you want to be the first to try our Maple Trading System, do watch out for the Maple Trading System button located on the button right corner of your MapleSEA screen!

Launch of Maple Life Tickets
There are 2 types of Maple Life Tickets: Maple Life (A-Type) and Maple Life (B-Type).

Maple Life (A-Type)

If you have an existing character that is Level 30 or higher in a world, a new Level 30 character can be created in the same world as your existing character.

For your new character, you can choose one of the following classes at 1st Job status: Warrior, Magician, Thief, Bowman and Pirate. Basic items and equipment and minimum AP points needed for your chosen 1st jobs will be allocated to your new character. All remaining AP and SP points will be left for you to distribute according to your preference.

Maple Life (B-Type)

This Maple Life ticket will come with an Extra Character Slot coupon which allows you to have an additional character slot (capped at 12 characters per world). The use of the Maple Life ticket is similar to the Maple Life (A-Type) ticket.The Maple Life Tickets will only be sold in the Cash Shop for a limited time only, so grab them before they are gone.

Mu Lung Training Center has been revised!
The following changes have been made to the Mu Lung Training Centre:
1. Max training point obtained per day is limited to 3500.
2. Once the max training point of 3500 has been achieved, player may still train in Mu Lung Training Center; however additional training points will not be accumulated.
3. Monsters will be summoned at random spots.

New Balrog Easy Mode!
1. For Easy Balrog Expedition Squad (from level 50 – 70, maximum 6 users), you have to select channel 5 or channel 10 for the Quest.
2. For Normal Balrog Expedition Squad (from level 71 and above, maximum 6 users), you have to select channel 15 for the Quest.

Family System has been revised!
When a character belonging to a family is deleted, the character will be automatically removed from all other families belonging to the system.

Savage blow (SB)
A bandit’s signature skill and also one of the fastest skills. Although the 6*80% suffers a heavy penalty due to mobs weapon defense, it should never be removed from your keyboard. Savage blow enables maximum possible chances of inflicting venom and more coins from PP as well. lvl 1 venom with SB can stack up to 1x k damage for 2 sec while max venom with SB can stack up to 3x k for 4 sec.
Places to use: anywhere you wish

Assaulter (AST)
A bandit’s teleportation skill and first stun skill. This skill ignores mob’s weapon defense. Mainly used for its teleportation or stunning function. Assaulter is a slow skill. Spamming SB could deal higher damage compared to spamming AST. Unless, like I’ve said, when you need the stun effect.
AST is good as a finishing move as it moves you forward or backward, whichever you want. In case, your finishing move purpose fails (didn’t manage to kill it), at least you are still able to stun it (save pots).
AST has a medium horizontal range but very big vertical range as compared to BS which has long horizontal range but smaller vertical range.

Ways of using AST:

The first 3 ways are normal, nothing much to talk about.
The last few ways are more interesting.

There are several sniping spots at sotong which you can use Jump AST
It is also sometimes known as Hidden AST.
Hidden AST does not teleport you to the higher platform but allows you to hit mobs at the platform above.
To use this, you need to press the AST button right after you press jump

Another type of Jump AST is the forward version of Back AST
This category of AST requires you to press AST only when you have reached the maximum of your jump.
This skill allows you to jump to the platform above of you.
It needs a lot of practice to ensure 100% success rate, crucial when papu-ing next time (refer below)

Falling AST is important not only to bring you back to your position before you were knocked off, it can also help you to position your mob. (Refer papu).

Wall AST is similar to Falling AST, but instead of getting knocked by mobs, you jump towards mob, turn around and AST back.
This technique can be used when you are at the edge of a platform and thus not enough space to AST through the mob. Used in papu.

One-sided AST can help in preventing getting hit while hitting the mob.
As we know, AST is usually able to knockback mobs while the range of AST is usually the thickness of a fat mob, e.g. sotong, viking, skele.
Hence, if we are not careful enough, we tend to get hit by the AST-knocked-back mob after we teleported through it.
One-sided AST is when when we stand very close to the mob, turn around and AST in the opposite direction (refer video 2)

Dodging AST is similar to telecasting of mages.
It is where you use AST to teleport away when a mob launches it magic attack on you.
This technique is not very significant however, as it has many restrictions and not as good as BS in terms of dodging.
It can be paired with BS to extend your invincibility period slightly.

Band of Thieves (BoT)
Fastest AoE after heal. However, the downside of this skill is that it requires you to successfully hit the first mob before the other ninjas appear. A very good mobbing skill as it is one of the non-stunning skill, that is why you do not lure with BS although it is much more powerful then BoT. The skill has higher damage output compared to ast when you are standing in thick mobs. The damage output is already higher when you are dealing with 3 mobs and above at the same time.In your late cdit days, use it together with PP-ME as supportive mobbing skill gives you superb exp gain. Venom does NOT work with BoT.

Places to use: golem, mong, blue kenta, goby fish, skele

Meso Explosion (ME)
Most powerful and expensive skill in the game.
Tradisionally used together with Pickpocket + SB.
It’s rather obsolete nowadays.
Nevertheless, it is still a powerful secondary skill in cdit’s 11x-12x period.

Misconception: ME as primary skill is a total waste of money
This statement is only true to a certain extent
Imagine boom-ing mong at lvl 10x
Each mong hits you ard 1k each hit
Your damage is about 10k, so you need about 7 hits to take out 1 mong
Boom-ing mong requires about 8*1k pile to kill 6 mongs
Now, do you lose or earn money here?
Of course, u can always be a mong lurer, but the experience will not be as impressive.
This applies for sotong as well

There is always a trade off between meso gain n exp gain

Boomberang step (BS)
One of a shadower’s primary skills. It is to be maxed ASAP.
The skill deals 4000% damage with invincibility + 90% stun rate. Downside is that it has cooldown.
BS also requires about 50% of the BS range to be on top of a ground, similar to AST restriction.
BS can be stringed up with many skills to dish out high damage. Refer to PRACTICAL section.

Jump BS - I find that Jump BS doesn’t actually let you hit higher. It’s just the visual effect.
It’s easier to perform on some keyboards compared to the others.
Basically you just press jump and BS together.

* 4000% damage is the total damage output [500% *2hits *4mobs]

Assassinate (AS)
A shadower’s bossing skill. Very very powerful. Some misconception to clarify about this skill.
The 4th hit of assassinate always comes out, but whether does it upgrade to a critical is another story.
The multiplier of assassinate increases by 1 every 3 sec.
In other words,
00-03 sec charge = uncharged *1
04-06 sec charge = uncharged *2
07-09 sec charge = uncharged *3
10-12 sec charge = uncharged *4

The direction of the 4th hit can be changed using direction keys.
The 4th hit can be cancelled by other skills.
The 4th hit won’t come out if they mob is killed after the first 3 hits.

Jump assassinate can be done the same way as jump BS.
Press jump and assassinate at the same time.

Venom
One of the most important passive skills.
There is no technique to be discussed under venom.

Venom’s effect is important if you don’t have at least above average equipment.
Reason is that with good gear you can 2hko with or without venom.
Hence, there is no need for adding venom.

Venom greatly enhances one’s dps.
However, there are mobs that are immune to poison, e.g. mong, cornian etc.

The above are the common skill combos that I normally use in training.
As we know, BS has a 1.x second delay in between 2 consecutive BS.
The time gap can be filled using different skills to optimize the damage output.
AST can be used after each combo to increase damage before repeating the combo as you can see that I start and end a combo with BS, so you need a skill to fill the time gap.

BS - AST also has advantage of extended invincibility period

For bossing purpose:
DS - AS - BS or BS - SB - BS
Which combo to use depend on your skill lvl of assassinate.
Opt for DS - AS - BS when your assassinate can inflict more damage than the total damage of BS - SB - BS.
If, your assassinate level is 1, then you should go for BS - SB -BS.

For mobbing purpose:
BS - BoT - BS
BS & BoT are 2 strongest mobbing skills with high damage output, 4000% and 1260%
Whenever in training, try as much as possible to lure mobs to both ends using BoT and finish off the thick mobs using this combo.
This ensures highest damage output of all combos.
The downside of this combo is that you also take in much more damage compared to other combos.
This problem is solved by fake, no worries.

For 1v1 purpose:
BS - SB - BS allows maximum possible chances of inflicting high venom damage on poison-able mobs

BS - AST - BS allows the mob to be stunned most of the time, especially useful in places like duku.

For farming purpose:
BS - SD - BS is a great combo for farming at places that requires 2hko.
Casting time of SD fits perfectly into the time gap of BS.
Especially useful when farming at places like birk, viking etc.

Do note that if you finish off a mob using SD without SD-ing first,
you DO NOT get bonus from SD

Shadower has high survivability in bosses
With 4200 HP and above, you can pretty much solo a lot of bosses, except maybe Anego, Bodyguards, Zakum and HT

During boss fights, throw in smoke every 10 min to obtain godmode status.
No knock back from bosses also means u can cast more skills per minute = more damage

Preferably to have fake, BS maxed, avoid tickets if you want to
but not necessary, avoid pill is good enough

Something different between shadower and other classes in bossing
DO NOT PIN THE BOSS
If you pin your boss to one small corner,
you are going to have trouble using your skills other than SB.

Captain Lathanica aka Sg Boss
This boss has very low accuracy.
So you should use very little pots.
The problem is that it heals 80k every 5 sec
If you cant dish out > 16k/sec then you can forget about it

ME - Just boom it. (not worth)
SB - BS if your assassinate level is low
DS - AS - BS if your assassinate level is high

Down time using DS - AS20 - BS is only 50% that of SB - SB - BS
it drops about 25 dew, 25 milk, lantern, meso and maybe equipments

Dark Crow aka Tengu
This is a headache, no dispel nor 1/1
but damage about 4k, highest on me is 4115
solo-able if you have more than 4200 HP
SB - BS and DS - AS - BS
Ignore the mongs, your BStep can take care of them

Lousy drops unless you get ribgol, which I never get.

Papulatus aka Clock boss
More advanced than Sg boss
dispel, stun, 1/1, slow, hibernate - evil skills
summon top bomb (4k damage) and bottom bomb (2k damage)

Skills needed:
Wall AST
Falling AST
Platform AST
Back AST
BS - AST
DS - AS - BS

There are 4 platforms on the right in the map
2 long platforms and 2 steps
You are immuned to the evil skills as long as you stay on the 2 long platforms, meaning no dispel no stun no slow.
If you stay on the ground, you get all the status effect EXTREMELY often

The trick is to summon the time sphere
SB till papu spawns, then use Wall AST to knock back papu so that it’s in between the 2 platforms.
Use DS - AS - BS to knock back papu to another platform
AST over and repeat to knock papu in the other direction and repeat
Should you fall from the platform, use the above listed techniques to quickly get back to the platforms before you are dispelled, stunned, slow etc.
Make use of papu’s hibernate time to charge your assassinate
avoid top bombs using BS or AST

Check out how this guy keep papu in between the two platforms

papu’s highest damage is about 1.5k
papu 2nd form highest is about 2.5k

Zakum
Not as technical as papu
Your role here is as backup bomber and smoker.
Not so much of main attacker.

During body, DS - AS - BS or SB - BS is the way to go.
If you wish, PP & ME as mob control skill
Use ME when zakum summons flying mobs
You can clear them before they reach your other squad members

Have to be careful of 1/1 skill though
Check under "precaution > 1/1 skill in bossing"

- You must be at least Level 120
- You should be a 3rd Job class
- Skill points from your 3rd Job must be fully assigned

Step By Step Guide
Speak to the respective 3rd job instructor in El Nath to get a Recommendation Letter for the Fourth Advancement.
Bring the Recommendation Letter to the 4th Job Instructor in Leafre for acknowledgement. Now, prove to the Instructor that you have what it takes for the 4th job advancement by getting the Heroic Star and Heroic Pentagon. You may hunt the Manon and Griffey to get the required items. Alternatively, head to Eos Tower 44th Floor to get a Secret Letter of Spell at 10 million mesos. After which, look for Chief Tatamo of Leafre Village to exchange for a set of Heroic Star and Heroic Pentagon.
When you are ready with the required items, go to your 4th job instructor to make your job advancement. Congratulations! You are now in 4th job advance class!
You will be granted 3 Skill Points, 5 Ability Points, a Maple Hero Skill Book and 3 core skills.

What is "Maker skill"?
Maker skill is a newly released skill that allows players with a job other than Beginner to create equipment for their job class.

How do I get the Maker skill?
Once you reach Lv45, head over to Magatia to meet Meren, who is in the portal to the right of Phyllia (left half of the town). Accept the quest "Meren's new discovery" and finish the three sub-quests. Each of the three quests require you to pay 10,000 meso. Return to Meren to take a little quiz to test what you remember of the quest dialogue for each of the quests. After completing the quiz, you earn the Maker skill.

How do I use the Maker skill?
The Maker skill, as with Monster Rider and Legendary Spirit, will be registered in the Beginner's Skillbook (the "dot" tab). It is used like any other skill - you can either set it to a hotkey or double-click the icon in the Skill Menu. Upon activating it, a window opens, where you can click the drop-down menus to select the items you want to make. Remember that you only know the recipes for equipment of your class, and only if you are at most 5 levels below the level requirement for that piece of equipment. Once you have selected an item, the materials required are displayed, as well as how much of each material you have. Click "Create" to make the item once you have enough materials. Take note that Gachapon-exclusive equipment such as the Doomsday Staff can't be forged.

Is there any chance of failure?
There is absolutely no chance to fail when using the Maker skill, unless you add in a Stimulator. In this case, there will be a 10% chance of failure, but the equipment might have better stats if the forging succeeds. The chance of failure is reduced by the Hands stat, which is calculated by DEX+INT+LUK.

So will the stats of the equipment be fixed?
Nope, they may be below average, average, or above average. Of course, if you add in Stimulators or Jewels, you may get better stats than usual.

What is the "???" option for? (Currently Glitched)
That's the Mystery Forging option. You MUST know the exact combination of materials needed to forge the equipment in order to use this function. By using this, you can forge equipment for ANY class. Do take note that the items you use will not disappear unless forging succeeds.

Why can't I make any more equipment past Lv70?
Lv1 Maker skill only allows you to make equipment up to Lv70. In order to forge higher leveled equipment, you will have to complete a simple little quest at Lv75 to level up the Maker skill to Lv2. You will then be able to forge equipment up to Lv100. Similarly, at Lv105, you can complete yet another quest to attain Maker Lv3, which allows you to forge equipment up to Lv120 (maybe Lv200, but that remains to be seen).

Level 2 require you to collect lvl 71-80 mob drop x 100 and convert them into a monster crystal. Talk to Stan again to get your lvl2 skill. Do note that there is a chance that Stan will reject your crystal. Just re-do another monster crystal and pray he will accept it.
Level 3 require you to collect 6 Gold Plate, 2 Steel Plate and a Lidum

What is "Disassembling"?
The "Disassemble" option destroys equipment to create monster crystals. It is likely that only forgeable equipment can be disassembled, and that you will receive the monster crystal required to forge it.

What is "Monster Crystal"?
Monster Crystal is a raw material that is required to make ALL equipment. Different grades and qualities of Monster Crystals are required for different sets of equipment. The better the equipment, the better the Crystals must be. Monster Crystals are made using the Maker skill, from 100 ETC drops of any monster Lv31 or higher that can be found in the Monster Book (credits to zidanedagger). Take note that you must have at least one empty ETC slot in order to turn the drops into Monster Crystals as you may get a better Crystal than the drop's supposed to give you.

So how about weapons that aren't "coloured"?
They require metal plates instead of Magic Powder. The metal plates required are:
Bronze - Lv50 for non-mage. Lv48 for wands, Lv55 for staves.
Steel - Lv60/70 for non-mage. Lv58/68 for wands, Lv65/75 for staves.
Mithril - Lv80/90 for non-mage. Lv78/88 for wands, Lv85/95 for staves.
Adamantium - Lv100/110 for non-mage. Lv98/108 for wands, Lv110 for staves.
Orihalcon - Lv120 for non-mage. Lv118 for wands, Lv120 for Staves.

What's with the "Jewel" option in the recipes?
You can add in graded jewels while forging equipment. You will have to use the Maker skill to grade the jewels before you can use them for forging. Different jewels give different stats to the equipment. You can't put in more than one of the same jewel for any equipment. Do take note that the stats in question can go either up or down. Here is a list of the stats given by each of the jewels:

Anything I should take note of on the grading of jewels?
It is possible to upgrade the jewels you have. This requires 10 jewels of the same grade. However, according to GreyMan, it's not worth upgrading your jewels to make them better.

I have tried grading some diamonds to basic grade diamonds (+1 WA)... there is a chance that you will obtain intermediate (+2 WA) and advance grade diamond (+3 WA) as well. The fee to grade 1 diamond is 110k meso.
After obtaining 10 basic grade diamonds, you can upgrade it 1 intermediate diamond with a fee of 330k and a chance of failing. If fail, 9 basic grade diamonds will be returned and 1 will be consumed.
As you can see, the fee to make grade your jewels can be very costly, I think it is advisable to only grade them to basic grade and hoping to obtain an advance grade by chance. If not, you are going to waste a lot of meso..

I can't find (item's name)!
Check Hidden-street, you'll probably find it there. There are a few things that you may not be able to find though.
Thimble - Drops from Red Porky. Not listed in Hidden-street.
Strengthened Mithril Fragment - Drops from Reinforced Mithril Mutae. Hidden-street lists this as Hardened Piece of Mithril.
Cable Bundle - Drops from Roid. Hidden-street lists this as Wires. I'm pretty sure it's called Wires in-game as well.
Magic Powder - Not listed in Hidden-street. Check the next section of this guide. Some of the monsters are listed (your help is needed to locate all of them!)

Magic Powder

What is "Magic Powder"?
Magic Powder is a raw material that is required for all armour and coloured weapons (e.g. Dark Slain). Magic Powders are semi-rare, and you're unlikely to find even one without killing mobs for hours. They come in eight colours; Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Purple, Red, White and Yellow. Magic Powders are used as dyes for equipment, so they are used to make only equipment of the same colour as they are.

So which Magic Powder is the best?
There isn't one. Powders don't contribute to the stats of the items, just their colour. I guess you could argue that, in this case, Black & White powders would be the best, since black & white equips tend to give better stats. Anyway, all jobs have at least 1 black equip, so I guess Black Powders would be most in demand. White powders won't be far behind, though

Do monsters drop only powder of the same colour as they are?
The answer is no. Monsters drop whatever coloured powder the programmers made them drop. It has no link whatsoever to their own colour. There are a few of them who drop powders of the same colour as they are, however (e.g. Rumo drops green powder).

Timeless Equipment

OMG an entire section dedicated solely to Timeless Equipment?! Yes, your eyes aren't deceiving you. Timeless Equipments are so important they deserve an entire section, just like Magic Powder and Quests (these 2 have their own sections mainly because more space is needed).

So what are Timeless Equipments?
They are the Lv120 equipments for Maplestory. They are also "binding" equipments, meaning that once you equip them, they cannot be traded. So please think it through carefully before you equip them!

That sucks. What's so good about them then?
Timeless Equipments can level up. They gain ItemEXP when you train with them equipped. Every time they level up, you may get SP from them (automatically added to SELECTED skills only, it's preset). The stats of the equipment will improve each time it levels up too. Once it reaches max ItemLv, there's a small chance that it'll gain a Status Effect option, which will allow you to inflict status effects on the opponent with any attack.

So what Status Effects will they gain?
- All warrior weapons = Seal, Darkness
- All thief weapons = Freeze, Slow
- All magician weapons = Darkness, Stun
- All pirate weapons = Seal, Damage
- All bowman weapons = ??? (Not in WZ files yet)

Seal - Seal your opponent for 10 seconds with a 10% probability.
Darkness - Put your opponent into darkness for 10 seconds with a 10% probability.
Stun - Stun your opponent for 5 seconds with a 10% probability.
Slow - Slow your opponent by 50 speed for 5 seconds with a 10% probability.
Freeze - Freeze your opponent for 5 seconds with a 10% probability.
Damage - [Not sure what this does. I got this from an online translator: 10% Odds, 30 seconds and continue to 50% damage every 10 seconds]

If you do manage to get one of the status effects, however, you will also get a +50 bonus HP recovery every 10 seconds.

What does this have to do with the Maker skill?
You can forge them using the Maker skill (that's why this is in this guide). As of now, Timeless equipment can ONLY be obtained via Maker skill, and Rock of Time can only be obtained by killing Pink Bean (ouch). This is a basic "skeleton" recipe for the Timeless equipments:

What's this "Reverse" set then?

Cygnus, the young Empress of Maple World, has sensed some evil forces lurking around the peaceful Maple towns. Seems like the Dark Magician, who previously failed to destroy Maple World, has returned to wreck chaos across the land! Hence, Empress Cygnus is now recruiting brave adventurers to become her Knights of Cygnus whose duty will be to fight off the Dark Magician and his wicked followers. Will you be the heroic Mapler to save the day?

Any brave adventurer is welcomed to join the Knight of Cygnus, so long as he or she fulfils one requirement: Only existing characters that are at least level 20 are able to create a new character to join the Knights of Cygnus. This new character, specifically created to join the Knight of Cygnus, will be linked to your main character through the Cygnus special power of the spirits. The link will enable your characters to support each other while leveling up.

Are you still determined to be a part of the heroic team? If you are able to meet the requirement, talk to Nineheart and he will direct you to the Knight of Cygnus job masters. Speak to Mihail to become a Soul Master, Oz to become a Flame Wizard, Irina who will lead to you to become a Wind Breaker, Ickart to become a Night Walker or Hawkeye to release your potential as a Striker.

If you are feeling a little apprehensive about it, do not fear! For all brave Knights of Cygnus who are sworn to protect Maple World will be blessed by the Empress Cygnus and the Divine Bird, who watches over Erev and the Maple World. 8. Maker Skill: For the PROFESSIONAL SCROLLERS
Now all Maplers above level 45 will get a new skill! Simply visit Moren in Magatia town to learn the Item Maker skill after completing a quest. This skill enables Maplers to create equipment and is leveled up by completing quests instead of the regular SP. Stimulators can be used with the Maker skill to create better items, but there is always a 10% chance of failure.

9. Mu Lung Dojo

A) What is Mu Lung Dojo?
Only by surviving the Kung Fu Panda Master’s challenge, will you earn the title of a master! Prove yourself by taking up the challenge from Mu Gong, the Kung Fu master from Mu Lung Training Center and achieve different colored martial belts to signify your grade. You can reach the training center at any one of these locations: Mu Lung, Ellinia and Orbis town. This is a short PQ. After talking to the npcs located at various towns, the player will be transported to the Training Center where an NPC called So Gong can take you into the Party Quest.

The player must fight bosses from the weakest to the strongest with the weakest boss being Mano, these bosses are slightly stronger than the originals

Recommended level: Lvl 35 above

17. Party Quest
A) Party Quest category is added in the quest window. It is available when you reaches 5 levels lower than the actual level required for PQ.

Bring the remaining Rice Cakes to NPC Tory in the Short Cut map. Once Tory has accepted an enough amount of Rice Cakes, he will reward you with a Rice Cake Hat.

Special Reward : Rice Cake Hat (Can be obtained by collecting 20 Moon Bunny's Rice Cakes and passing them to the ending NPC.)

18. Map
A) The Forest of Patience map can only be entered once per day.
B) The Deep Forest of Patience map can only be entered once per day.
C) You can search for the Treasure Chest in Subway Area once per day.
D) The Delivery System is not available in Zakum’s Altar, Horned Tail Cave and Pink Bean map.

19. Skill
A) Pirate 4th job skill Viper is revised. No more damage will be done on the
B) character while attacking a fixed Mob by using Fist.
C) Demolition skill is revised. The delay that occurred while it’s being used, is fixed.
D) Energy Buster skill’s after-delay is reduced.

Surely not only Pirates gets skill revised rite?
Then it will be unfair for the other jobs.

E) When you level up, it will be shown in chat window of your guild members and family members.

20. Inventory

A) Deciding stats when creating a character by rolling dice is removed.
B) All characters will be given the same stats to start out with.
C) Beginner’s skill “Three Snails” does not require snail shells.

D) Auto distribute function is added in the Character Stat window. Remaining AP (Ability Points) will be automatically distributed suitable for job & level upon clicking the button
E) An “Occupation recommend” quest is available when you reach level 8. You can still choose your preferred job if you do not like the job recommended by the Maple Administrator.
F) If you choose the recommended job, you can move to the job town directly instead of taking the ship from South Perry.

G) The required stat for 1st Job advancement has been removed. All newly-created characters will start up with the same stats.
H) You can still choose your preferred job regardless of the current stat.
I) Stats will be automatically re-distributed when making the 1st job advancement.

You still need to buy the coupons to invite ur family and friends over for the wedding.

24. Item
A) The drop rate of the “Piece of Time” has been adjusted higher.
B) Drop item option is increased:
C) Master Monsters will drop better items compared to regular monsters.
D) Boss mob will drop better items than Master Monsters.
E) New Equip items are added. Up to level 110 items will be dropped by monsters, and items over level 110 will be included in Gachapon.

25. Quest
A) Quest system interface is revised. Chain quest will be shown with different icon, and the order of the chain quest will be available in the quest window.
B) Click the “Find NPC” button under the Available tab in quest log to see the location of the quest start NPC.
C) Button key [Q] is added in the quest alarm window [L] to open the quest window.
D) When you register a new available quest, [Q] will blink.

26. Buddy window
A) Buddy Window interface has been revised. You can have a maximum of 100 buddies and categorize them into different groups.

A) Fee for meso trade and item sale in the Free Market has been downgraded.

The tax fee has decreased. And I thought it increase but its the other way round. So things will still be the same as it is. Mesos will still be generated more.

Ways to speed up a Windows XP Computer!!!

These are guides i have read on the net (wikihow) and find useful to share:

1) Defragment Your PC
It places similar files physically closer on the hard disk to improve load speeds.
Click start >> then click run >> Type and enter "dfrg.msc" >> Click Defragment to start.

2) Disk clean up
Click start >> then click run >> Type and enter "cleanmgr.exe" >> Click okay.

3) Remove unwanted software
Click start >> then click control panel >> Choose add/remove programs.
Find any old software you do not use that can remove

4) Stop unwanted Start-Up programs
Click start then click Run >> Type and enter "msconfig" >> Choose startup box.
Uncheck programs you don't want to run on startup

5) Make Windows load faster
Click start then click Run >> Type and enter "msconfig" >> Click on the "BOOT.INI" tab at the top. Over to the right there will be a box labeled Timeout with 30 in it. Change the 30 to a 3.

6) Speed Up RAM
Click start >> then click control panel >> Choose "System properties" >> Advanced tab then Click the Settings button under Performance. 'Change' under Virtual Memory >> Advanced tab
You will see the 'Initial Size (MB)' and the Maximum Size (MB)'.
Change 'Initial Size' to the same value as 'Maximum Size' then click set.

7) Remove Spyware and Viruses
Scan your Pc regularly. If you do not have tools installed to protect against malware, spyware, and viruses, download a free copy of "AVG Anti-Virus 8.0" (free for personal use).

Always create a restore point before uninstalling software.

Be careful when using "msconfig". Do not uncheck unfamiliar items. Doing so could prevent your Windows install from booting!
